Photography That Tells Your Story
I’m Larry Peak, a photographer with more than 50 years behind the camera.
My interest in photography began while I was serving in the United States Army, shooting film and learning to see the world through a camera. What started as a hobby became a lifelong passion. Over the years, I have photographed people, places, landscapes, cityscapes, and quiet moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.
Today, my photography focuses on people and places throughout the Midwest. I enjoy creating portraits that feel natural, honest, and personal, as well as images of landscapes, streets, towns, and details that reflect the character of the region.
For me, photography is not just about taking a picture. It is about noticing light, expression, setting, mood, and story. Whether I am photographing a person, a city street, a rural landscape, or a creative concept, I am always looking for the image that feels genuine.
A Collaborative Approach
I especially enjoy working with people who want to be part of the creative process. A good photo session is a collaboration, not just a set of instructions. I welcome ideas, suggestions, and conversation during a shoot. Some of the strongest images come from combining your ideas with mine.
My goal is to create a relaxed environment where people feel comfortable being themselves. Whether the session is simple, expressive, artistic, or experimental, I want the final images to feel authentic to the person being photographed.
People, Places & Creative Photography
My work includes portraits, creative people photography, landscapes, cityscapes, and documentary-style images of places that catch my eye. I am drawn to images with atmosphere, texture, expression, and a sense of story.
I am also interested in creative photography projects, including shoots that explore mood, form, character, and personal expression. I am open to select TFP collaborations when the concept, creative goals, and mutual benefit are a good fit. If you have an idea for a session, I would be glad to talk with you about it.
